CRC Potty-Mouth

Like a moth drawn to a flame, I checked the CRC's online discussion site this evening, and discovered that Biance, er, Retta, er, CRCPrecious has posted a piece titled "TTF Forum." Now we know that Retta didn't come to our forum, so I was a little curious to see what her take on it would be.

Ah, this, of course.

In his lecture on the scientific and medical aspects of sexual orientation, Dr. Paul Wertsch, the Chair of the American Medical Association's Advisory Committee on Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Issues Concerning Patients, Medical Students, and Physicians, mentioned the research of Alfred Kinsey. Of course, modern sex research began with Kinsey, you can't really talk about it without mentioning him, but ... well, y'know, the extremists really really hate Kinsey.

Here, you can see Dr. Wertsch's Powerpoint presentation: CLICK HERE. Three of Dr. Wertsch's thirty-five slides describe Kinsey's work.

But all of Retta's, er, CRCPrecious's synopsis of the TeachTheFacts Forum -- which had five featured speakers plus two expert panelists, and lots of important statements from the audience, is about Kinsey. All of it.

And none of it is about his research, which is what we heard about. It's just about his personal life.

She says things like this:
he masturbated…with a foreign object inserted up his penis. By late adolescence, his masochism was well advanced. He had progressed beyond straws and was inserting a brush back up his penis.

and this:
It's absolutely vital that American's know the truth about this disgusting degenerate for his 'research' has been propagated throughout our society..

and so on.

We held our forum EXACTLY to rise above this kind of thinking. We were not there to gossip about rumors of curious sex practices by people we disagree with. Dr. Wertsch was there to discuss research on sexual behavior, and some of it, yes, was conducted by Kinsey.

The CRC has treated the MCPS sex-ed curriculum as pornography from the start, they have a kind of weird Midas Touch that makes everything ugly.

Before Kinsey, no one had dared study sexual behavior in the laboratory, and now the field of study he initiated has resulted in thousands of peer-reviewed studies published in dozens of scientific journals. Knowledge of human sexuality has increased steadily over those intervening decades, and knowledge is bad for the CRC, it undermines their arguments.

It is embarrassing to see what passes for discourse among these sad people who oppose the Montgomery County Public Schools. It is embarrasssing to me personally to be put on this level. But you can't just abandon our community to these Philistines, you have to fight. And you just pray you aren't contaminated by their filth.

Earlier today I posted the full text of Glenn North's discussion of comprehensive sex education at the forum. I hope to be able to post the text of the lecture by Deborah Roffman, and others. It is important for us to talk about the issues, not make potty-mouth about people we don't know.

I can't tell you how discouraging it is to see what we're up against here.

We learned a lot at the forum, and it was a pleasure not to have our heads pushed into the toilet, as happens when we listen to the Citizens for a Responsible Curriculum.

I was at the Forum, minding the welcome table at the front door. Staying at the door, I was not able to hear all of Dr. Wertsch's presentation, but I was there when he introduced the Kinsey material. One of the first things the doctor told us was that Kinsey's research is controversial, and he discussed why. Dr. Wertsch also pointed out that prior to Kinsey, there were no studies of homosexuality.

Retta isn't a doctor, so she might not know this, but one doesn't get to be the president of a state chapter of the American Medical Association by playing games with bogus research. If you look at the "experts" the CRC relies on, you will not find such distinguished medical professionals.

Dr. Wertsch's use of the Kinsey material was honest: he explained the controversy in the research before showing data from that research that still stands up to scrutiny.

Retta Brown...hmm was she the one that CRC/RECALL wanted to be their representative on the new Citizens Advisory Committee on Family Life and Human Development as reported as far back as last May?

Never mind she does not meet new guideline rules...but yet still focused more on misrepresentation.

Remember
she is the one that continually told everyone that their ideas
were never listened to on old CAC.

Some things just never change.

Winston Churchill GSA

Now they are aiming CRC/RECALL eyeballs at the above.....over posters in the school's hallway that say the below.

"Every human being has a sexual orientation--homosexuality is just one of them"

"There is no such things as a Homosexual or Heterosexual person. There are only homo or heterosexual acts. Most people are a mixture of impulses if not practices...Gore Vidal"

Geesh.. CRC/Recall need something more productive to do...as Jonnny Garza now wants the photos of the GSA posters emailed to him. Guess the school will be threatened by Johnny Garza....as he shares the photos with his Liberty Counsel friends.

From CRC Precious (Retta Brown) on CRC/Recall Message Board

Transgenderism is a subject

• Why would the American Psychological Assoc. recommend PFLAG as a reference resource on their website? This is a non-medical organization that advocates the surgical mutilation of the mentally ill transgendered people? It is not normal to go around and remove body parts for self gratification

Boy Retta just worries too much....

Anonymous, could you tell us what's going on at Churchill? If not here in the comments, then please email us at info@teachthefacts.org, with some details, maybe a name of someone we can talk to over there.

Thanks.

I am not surprised. CRC does not believe in open or honest or intelligent discourse- but perhaps that is because they are not capable of it. Why focus on on what was said at the forum-just try to pretend something nasty happened- because of course, that was what the CRC hatefest was all about- nastiness(How long before I can forget Tres Kern and his weirdness- yuck) and lies and homophobia. Why didn't Retta/Bianca/Precious focus on the fact that the TTF forum was held at BCC and BCC's fall musical is Urinetown- and then make up stuff about the show and then claim something about TTF? It wouldn't be anymore illogical than her usual nonsense. Kinsey's masturbation has
anything to do with Dr. Wertsch's presentation?- only in the weird obsessed minds of CRC.

Vandalized GSA posters spark protest

By Alison Pollack

During September’s Ally Week, a nationwide event in schools which encourages students to ally with lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals, posters put up by the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) were defaced and vandalized with anti-gay slurs. Photos of the posters soon appeared on the Citizens for Responsible Curriculum (CRC) website blog, prompting CRC lawyer Johnny Garza to threaten a lawsuit against the CHS administration; no lawsuit occured as a result of the threats.

According to GSA vice president Julia Abeles, Johnny Garza (the lawyer also involved in the MCPS health curriculum disputes) wished to “take action against [CHS]” and questioned whether the posters were approved by administration.

According to SGA sponsor Matthew Schilling who determines appropriateness of club posters, language, sexual innuendo and sexuality are all factors for rejecting a poster.
“I initialed the posters,” assistant principal Michael Richards said. “I get angry when people silence each other; it’s cowardly.”

Researchers on behalf of the GSA traced the photos of the posters found on the CRC website to the name “John Woodley,” believed to be an alias.

“People started commenting on the [CRC] website, saying how outrageous we were,” Abeles said. “They didn’t say anything vulgar, it was just random.”

Prior to the email Garza sent to GSA vice president Calei Chan, two posters were vandalized and several were repeatedly torn down.

“Each time a poster was torn down, GSA put it right back up again,” GSA sponsor Art Bescher said. “On one poster, ‘God hates fags’ was scrawled across, and on another, they wrote ‘gay’ in large letters, and crossed out ‘Gay-Straight Alliance’ to read ‘fag-homo lovers’.”

According to Chan, parents called in with complaints, asking for a particular poster to be taken down due to a misinterpretation of the word “slippery.” GSA decided to take it down because they did not want to send the wrong message with its posters.

“[CHS] tends to camouflage controversy,” Chan said. “I would have liked to keep the vandalized posters up just to shock students and help them see the poignant and provocative message.”

Some in the Potomac community still remain critical of the GSA and its motives due to religious or personal beliefs.

“I think the posters were a little pushy and opinionated,” an anonymous junior said.
According to Bescher, the GSA remains committed to its goal despite the harassment and will continue advocating equality in the CHS community.
