Just to let you know, I'm about to head off to Dulles to catch a flight across the Atlantic. The hotel I'll be in says they have wireless Internet access "for a small charge," so we'll see how much contact I have with the Internet.

First of all, Garza probably wasn't wise to say this because it's a statement that can be taken the wrong way.
Second, he's probably right. The tradition he is part of, evangelical Christianity, makes a great deal out of the importance scripture study.
Third, while Christianity makes a great deal out of the importance of scripture study, no one thinks it makes one more righteous. If heeded, yes, but mere familiarity is no moral victory. See how Jesus denounced lawyers and Pharissees.
Finally, if you think boasting about one's familiarity with scripture is HTT, what do you make of Wayne's attitude? This TTF contributor simply refuses to discuss biblical topics with anyone because he believes his knowledge is so superior to anyone elses'.
You can reach Wayne and ask him directly to discuss scripture with you at his website.
People who want to discuss scripture usually go to a website that is set up to discuss scripture, not a website set up to discuss a public school system's health curriculum.

It comes up from time to time here, usually brought up originally by a TTF member or because a TTF member has broadened the conversation beyond curriculum issues to general societal concerns.
Not the issue anyway. The issue is that Andrea believes that John Garza is HTT because he believes he knows a lot about scripture and yet several TTFers seem to hold this opinion about themselves with one example glaring above the rest. Are they also considered HTT by Andrea?
While we're on the topic, Andrea has produced little else to support her statement that CRC leaders are HTT.

Sorry, WFA, it was a response to a TTFer and was from a thread where several TTFers were rattling on about the topic.

We are paying attention anonymous - no one wanted to discuss the buy-bull with you on that other thread and now you're trying to push the subject on this thread. Obviously you've contradicted your statement that the subject is usually brought up by Teach The Facts. Face the reality of your foolishness.

Try looking at the other thread, Randi. On that thread the topic was only discussed by TTFers. The one who didn't get a response was Andrea. Neither WTA, anon or any anti-TTFer discussed the Bible on the other thread.

Yes, Randi. Look back at the thread. Those discussing scripture were, first, Ted, then Dana, Jim and Andrea.
The only thing anon said was that the discussion was sad and stupid.

OK, let's drop that and just get back to the original issue.
Andrea believes that leaders of CRC are HTT. Since she can't provide any documentation for anyone but John Garza, we'll just assume that antipathy toward CRC is a religious belief of hers.
Mr. Garza, however, is certifiably HTT, according to Andrea, because he thinks he's read the Bible more than David. The question is whether know-it-all TTFers who believe they know more than anyone else about the Bible are HTT also or does that standard only apply to know-it-all social conservatives?

Thanks for the demonstration of how CRC supporters operate. In the absence of data, they just make something up and act as if they know or in this case "guess the answer."

Not really, Robert. In order to qualify as HTT, one would have to hold that they are better than most. I don't think Theresa was saying she is one of the few non-murderers in the world. She was, I suppose because I don't remember the remarks you refer to, saying that LBGT policies contribute to deaths in some way that gay advocates are essentially murderers. That rhetoric is probably a little over the top but she was likely countering some similar TTF nonsense.
So, anyway, to say someone, gay advocates in this case, are holier-than-none is not to say one is HTT.

So, in other words her rhetoric wasn't "a little over the top", it was nonsense seeing as you said it was similar to nonsense. I happen to well remember that thread and no one at Teach The Facts made such an absurd statement. Theresa was just being her usual wildly distortive self.
