Woops -- Scratch That Part

I just finished writing about how unhappy I was that the CRC, featuring barrel-bottomer Richard Cohen, was going to appear on a Montgomery County TV show. Then our CillyGoose just emailed me, and said: You have to change the blog. I clicked the link, and waddya know? Richard Cohen has been erased from the schedule.

So I'm feeling a little like Rosanne Rosannadanna here.

Never mind.

About the Cohen part.

I still meant what I said about the rest of 'em.

It appears that the second half of the show will feature Maryland Delegate Anne Kaiser, who is openly lesbian, and I'll betcha does not exactly agree with everything the CRC leaders are going to say.

Good, cool. We weren't the only ones who noticed how wrong this was.

(It will be fun to find out what the story was here.)

(Misconstrual: a kind of misinterpretation resulting from putting a wrong construction on words or actions (often deliberately).

Reckon Cohen forgot to tell Citizens Link this little tidbit?

You are onto something with your John Wayne Gacy analogy. It seems Cohen and other quacks who insist on practicing long banished treatments have found a new way to prey on our young men. Cohen has admitted that it is a constant struggle to maintain heterosexuality.

I will never comprehend how parents could send their sons off to men like him for anything.

Good point! Quacks have been around forever and Cohen and his ilk have just found a new way to make money by harming people under the pretense of " reparative therapy".

If someone really wanted some sort of therapy, you would get a recommendation from a physician or a counseling organization- no one would send you to a guy who has been tossed out for ethical violations and for practicing dangerous trickery. But of course, no reputable psychiatrist or psychologist would practice this poisonous nonsense.

If you really loved your child, you would never send them to this guy or people like him. If you really loved your child, you would accept them for who they are and not send them to fake therapists to deal with your own problems and phobias.

So who's decision was it in the first place to name a program "Health Education: Where do we go from here" and then only invite representatives of the groups that sued MCPS to prevent implementation of our revised health education curriculum to address that question?

Michelle Turner, Steve Fisher and Ruth Jacobs are members of the CRC. As such, they support the current sex ed curriculum and it's 1992 film about contraceptives which includes information about contraceptives that are no longer on the market. Fifteen year out-of-date information is not exactly what we'd expect MCPS, one of the finest school systems in the country, would aspire to teach our teens.

Who at this community TV station decided that only three county residents who either don't allow their kids to take sex ed or have no children in MCPS deserve the right to express their views that teaching tolerance is tantamount to being a homosexual activist? And why was Richard Cohen, a conflicted and centured charlatan -- who is not even a county resident -- invited to address the future of MCPS's health education curriculum?

Most importantly -- Why hasn't a member of a group that supports tolerance and wants factual knowledge taught to our teems like Teachthefacts.org been invited to represent the other side of this debate?

Something stinks.

Very well said.....

CRC is about as shady as it gets when spouting they support the old outdated curriculum for sex education but yet its main officers either have no children in the system or as in Michelle Turner's case especially have never allowed her kids to take the old...even though she spouts it is just fine NOW.

Smelly this is.........that CRC and its cohorts want to tell everybody else's children what they can and cannot learn about in sex education.

CRC and its cohorts are a bunch of homophobes masquerading as do gooders.

Shame on Citizens Link for trying to help this homophobic bunch without looking at both sides until prople raised a ruckus on a county station used this way when supported by our tax dollars

Hope they(Citizens Link) have learned that CRC does not represent the majority.

MCPS Parent, John Wayne Gacy twice married women, and lived a "normal" life by all accounts, even after doing time for sodomizing a teenage boy. Why, you could've put his face on a billboard as an example that "change is possible." But what was that smell in Pogo the Clown's house?

Cohen's life seems just about as "normal" as Gacy's except "that smell" is in his psychoterrorism office.
